Feedback linearization based control for weak grid connected PV system under normal and abnormal conditions

Rahul SHARMA,Sathans SUHAG

Frontiers in Energy 2020, Volume 14, Issue 2,   Pages 400-409 doi: 10.1007/s11708-017-0459-5

Abstract: This paper proposes a control strategy for interface of distributed energy sources into the weak grid system with a focus on the energy and ancillary services. A novel controller has been designed and implemented to tackle the challenges of coupling terms in the LCL filter, the transient behavior under sudden changes, and the voltage support under fault condition using the feedback linearization technique. The controller proposed has been implemented on the PV system connected with the weak grid using the LCL filter and the performance of the controller has been verified using Matlab/Simulink through simulation under different conditions. The results of the controller proposed have been compared with the conventional PI dual loop controller. The simulation results obtained demonstrate the effectiveness and simplicity of the controller design strategy.

Assessment of robustness of structures: Current state of research

Colin BRETT, Yong LU

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2013, Volume 7, Issue 4,   Pages 356-368 doi: 10.1007/s11709-013-0220-z

Abstract: The concept of structural robustness and relevant design guidelines have been in existence in the progressive collapse literature since the 1970s following the partial collapse of the Ronan Point apartment building; however, in the more general context, research on the evaluation and enhancement of structural robustness is still relatively limited. This paper is aimed to provide a general overview of the current state of research concerning structural robustness. The focus is placed on the quantification and the associated evaluation methodologies, rather than specific measures to ensure prescriptive robustness requirements. Some associated concepts, such as redundancy and vulnerability, will be discussed and interpreted in the general context of robustness such that the corresponding methodologies can be compared quantitatively using a comparable scale. A framework methodology proposed by the authors is also introduced in line with the discussion of the literature.

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2010, Volume 4, Issue 4,   Pages 474-482 doi: 10.1007/s11709-010-0089-z

Abstract: A number of ethnic minorities are being distributed in southwest China. Yunnan Province is an area inhabited by multi-ethnic groups. For a long time, the ethnic groups have been interacted by others in the cultural aspect, while retaining their own ethnic traditions. The performances of ethnic groups’ dwelling houses are similar as determined by natural and cultural elements of the same area. This paper mainly analyzes decisive factors behind similar appearances by the way of field research on two minorities, Nu ethnic group and Li-su ethnic group, in the Fugong county, Nujiang Li-su autonomous prefecture. Moreover, the paper tries to summarize the commonality and individuality of the minorities in order to provide useful theoretical reference for the minorities building of new socialist countryside in the future.
